My name is Oleg and I am an amateur photographer from Kyiv, Ukraine. I started my journey when phones with built-in cameras appeared, for me it was something fantastic. Then I thought about buying a camera and 3 years ago and it has happened. Having tried many genres of photography, I settled on shooting nature - landscapes and macro, and of course animals. I took part in many competitions, my photo of the sun is one of the most popular ones on the Nikon Ukraine Facebook page. I love cycling, this is a great opportunity to relax and do my favorite hobby.

                                               Artist statement:

I love nature. In the high contrast of technological nowadays I seek comfort in nature’s leaves. Nature does not need bright colors. it does not need heavy equipment. In the highly filtered times I try to translate the scenery without much editing. I try to depict exactly what I see.

To me, photography is poetry. I see mountains, leaves and flowers as letters, arranging them into a well composed poetry. Rain falls from the sky, containing in itself immense information about the world and being. Think about it: it has travelled all the way from the skies and has set foot here on earth. Each drop is God’s eye to me. Nature is grand design of information. Usb or another gadget are also containers of the information. Say, why we praise one over the other?

I am raising questions such as - what is human? What is nature? What is artificial?

Nature is our language. We are its words. Nature is not a freeze-frame shot. However, we were granted the director’s seat. How do we go about it? We must grow an attentive listener inside of us if we want to save it. We must treat nature as a mirror of ourselves, the voice, the life. What is culture without action?
